About OpenAstroMap

OpenAstroMap is a sky map for astrophotographers on which every image sits exactly in its place. Plate solving works out the position from the stars in the picture; you see your images on your own sky, put together maps, share them with friends or your club — and, if you like, show them to everyone on the community map, each with its credit and licence.

This is the alpha. A small group is testing the basics. Expect rough edges, and things here may still change — feedback is very welcome.

OpenAstroMap is open source (AGPL-3.0). How the processing works and which software is behind it is described on the Technology page.
